【摘要】:1.1Thisguidedescribesthedesign,selectionconsiderations,andinstallationproceduresfortheplacementofpolyethylenepipeorconduitbelowgroundusingmaxi-horizontaldirectionaldrillingequipment.Thepipesorconduitsmaybeusedforvariousapplicationsincludingtelecommunications,electricpower,naturalgas,petroleum,waterlines,sewerlines,orotherfluidtransport.1.2Horizontaldirectionaldrillingisaformoftrenchlesstechnology.Theequipmentandproceduresareintendedtominimizesurfacedamage,restorationrequirements,anddisruptionofvehicularormaritimetrafficwithlittleornointerruptionofotherexistinglinesorservices.Mini-horizontaldirectionaldrilling(min-HDD)istypicallyusedfortherelativelyshorterdistancesandsmallerdiameterpipesassociatedwithlocalutilitydistributionlines.Incomparison,maxi-horizontaldirectionaldrilling(maxi-HDD)istypicallyusedforlongerdistancesandlargerdiameterpipescommoninmajorrivercrossings.Applicationsthatareintermediatetothemini-HDDormaxi-HDDcategoriesmayutilizeappropriatex201C;medix201D;equipmentofintermediatesizeandcapabilities.Insuchcases,thedesignguidelinesandinstallationpracticeswouldfollowthosedescribedforthemini-ormaxi-HDDcategories,asjudgedtobemostsuitableforeachsituation.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationpurposesonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityoftheregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Section6containsgeneralsafetyinformationrelatedtotheuseofmaxi-horizontaldirectionaldrillingequipment.
